with ps6 we revisited
the notion of noise. this time, however, we were allowed to consider solutions
that addressed issues of form in addition to lexical solutions.
i used the emigre font "oblong" as a template for creating a vector font that i am able to manipulate.
i express noise in terms of sequentiality. to this end i am playing with the notion of noise in the sense of cacophony. by sampling the orginal form of the word and stacking the slices, i create a distracting resonance: in other words noise.
for the lexical portion of the blur, i create semantic noise. letters are replaced by synonyms, homonyms or symbols.
