torqueball

Torqueball is one of the more advanced torsional spring projects. using a collection of randomly distributed two dimensional points, it makes a jagged line out of these points, and tries to straighten them out. it is a self-organizing system, attempting to reach some kind of equilibrium, a compromise between the contradictory forces of the springs and knots involved.

This is a shot of torqueball at the very beginning - a tangled mass of string that is almost cellular in appearance.
