Flat screen "windows" allow users to view and shape a work, continually in progress. A person approaches one of these consoles, which displays a live video feed of its context with the sculpture composited into it. He is free to use his window to grab and shape some sculpting material to add to the sculpture. Multiple consoles active at once could allow for the collaborative design of a virtual environment embedded in a real one.

Implementation

Users approach screens on stalks that show live video of the space they are in with a virtual sculpture composited into it.

Project poster. (Based on template by Ben Fry.)

The sculpture grows onto and over any existing architectural features of the real space.

A user may create new material to shape or extract a piece of the existing sculpture to work on.

The user shapes the piece with a variety of tools.

The finished piece is placed back into the sculpture.
