draw on the canvas, and the molassograph will gradually reveal an image-gestalt through the contractions and rarefactions of the moving particles you've left behind. you can comb the particles with the right mouse button (or a shift-drag). where the underlying image is darker, the particles will move more slowly, making little traffic jams....
