Reed Kram: Biography

Reed Kram is currently a researcher at Chalmers Medialab in Gothenburg, Sweden, teacher at Designskolen Kolding, Denmark, and designer. His work spans reactive spaces, interactive graphics, new media performance, electronic games, interactive television, educational software, and information architecture and has been exhibited in the US, Europe, and Japan. Recent projects include a collaboration with the Dutch architecture firm OMA (Rem Koolhaas) on a series of fashion retail spaces in the states, teaching with Ian Anderson of the Designers Republic, and LIVING, a new media installation in which a CAVE virtual reality environment is transformed into a living space and occupied by a human inhabitant for 24 hours.

Kram has a B.S. in electrical engineering from Duke University and an M.S. from the MIT Media Laboratory where he worked with John Maeda and was a founding member of the Aesthetics and Computation Group. He has traveled a great deal. He currently lives and works on Sodermalm island in Stockholm, Sweden.
