Part of the way I respond to what I see, and in fact, part of the way I look, is to construct models that I can manipulate. I become an active observer. I modeled this piece after a volume which appears in a lithograph by M. C. Escher called Waterfall. All of its wonderful complexity arises out of the simple composition of three cubes.
